When I was thirteen years old my Aunt
traveled from California to Michigan to visit
my family. When she arrived in Michigan, her
Chihuahua had a litter of puppies. I was so
excited, I could hardly contain myself! I would
sit for hours watching the mother clean them
and watching them nurse. My Aunt, seeing
my fascination decided to give me the little
girl out of the litter. From that day on, I was
hooked on Chihuahuas! I called her "Tiny"
and today, many years later, I still believe the
Chihuahua is the best dog God ever created.
Tiny little dogs with great big hearts. With help
from wonderful mentors,
Annette and Annalisa Waldkoetter of Windsong Chihuahuas Seymour, Indiana, I am breeding to the standard for healthy quality puppies with outgoing personalities.
I believe temperament is the most important trait because every Chihuahua should be a loved family member. I don't have a kennel. My dogs live in our home, under our feet, and on our couch with my husband and me. I only have a few dogs because I believe they all deserve individual love and attention. I have to admit it is hard to do! It would be so easy to keep them all. Of course, my husband Dean, helps keep this rule in force! I learn more and more about Chihuahuas as the years pass. Some of my ideas and methods have changed. But one thing still remains the same .............Nothing is as beautiful as a Chihuahua puppy nursing!
